Cashmerette - Calder Pants - 4102

Cashmerette - Calder Pants In August 2022 sewing.patternreview.com had a Mini Wardrobe contest.    For my Mini Wardrobe I made 2 pair of Calder pants, the Vernon shirt in black linen, the Alton top in a black and white print linen and a reversible Kersoe top in Ponte.  My colour theme was black and white print mixing.  Mini Wardrobe rules:  Sewing a capsule wardrobe is a great way to make dressing easy. Whether you are dressing for the office, working at home or working out, this contest will help you ensure that your wardrobe is versatile, super easy and customized to your needs. In this month-long contest, participants will sew five items that coordinate to form a collection. The collection must include two tops, two bottoms (pants, shorts, skirt, skort, etc.) and the fifth item is Sewer’s choice – can be another top, bottom, topper (cardigan or jacket) or a dress. Calder Pants & Shorts, a pants pattern designed for curves! These wide-legged woven trousers feature a flat front, e

Cashmerette - Pembroke Dress - 1204

Cashmerette Pembroke Dress I bought this pattern but wasn't sure it was right for me because it doesn't have any bust dart for shaping so I tested it using some animal print fabric in Ponte I bought for $10 at a second hand shop.  Take on your day with the Pembroke Dress & Tunic! This iconic T-shirt dress, is designed for curves, with cup sizes from C – H. Customize your own look, with midi or tunic lengths, a modern split hem detail and an optional waist tie. Then choose from three neckline options (scoop, jewel, or turtleneck) and either cuffed or hemmed sleeves. Whether made up in a lightweight ponte or flirty floral jersey, there’s nothing basic about this curvy wardrobe essential! Size 12 to 32 (PDF pattern), 12 to 28 (printed pattern) in three cup sizes (C/D, E/F, G/H) – includes 40-62” bust and 42-62” hip. I made size 18 G cup. It is a very simple garment with a front, a back and sleeves. The waist ties and neckline give it more shape interest.  fold over elastic use

Cashmerette - Ahead of the Curve - Foxhill Dress

Cashmerette - Ahead of the Curve - Foxhill Dress Sewing.patternreview ran a contest in 2022 challenging participants to make a garment using only their overlocker/serger and overstitch machines.  I only used my overlocker and coverstitch machine for the construction of this dress. This was part of the challenge for me as I chose not to baste anything by hand and couldn’t baste by machine. There was a lot of precise pinning to get the waist and side seam to skirt seam lined up with the contrast stripe detail, and I only ran over 1 pin!  Book: Ahead of the Curve -  A perfect book for the beginner who has trouble finding commercial patterns that fit first time!   The fit clinic is an invaluable resource to all sewist's making their own clothing or making clothing for others. I learned a lot specifically about accomodating my full bust with patterns I already have that are not designed for a G cup.  All the Cashmerette pattens I have made so far have fit my 95% first time!
